Holiday Cheer for Luke AFB Children Through Community Giving

Fifty-one children from Luke Air Force Base had a special holiday season thanks to 'Operation Santa,' a collaborative effort by Fiesta Bowl Charities, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and the Fighter Country Foundation. The initiative aimed to bring cheer to children with a deployed parent or from a single-parent household by giving them a $300 gift card to spend on clothes, shoes, and sports equipment. The event not only facilitated a shopping spree but also included a free dinner and holiday crafts, making the season brighter for these families. Fiesta Bowl Charities, a strong supporter of the Luke AFB community, has been organizing this event for eight years and underscores the importance of giving back, especially to families making significant sacrifices. This year's event also highlighted the collaboration with local businesses and nonprofits in supporting military families during the holiday season.

Thousands of Arizonans start their day with Good Day Buckeye

“Reading the newsletter has become a really positive daily habit for me. I read it while drinking my coffee and planning the day. It saves me a ton of time, but it's really enjoyable too. It's great to have the news filtered down to just a handful of critical events everyday that actually matters to me. I also like reading the community profiles. They interview people locally like teachers, politicians, and small business owners. It's hard to find this anywhere else.”

“I'm a senior citizen here in Buckeye, and this newsletter is like a lifeline. I don't have the attention span these days to read the paper, and Facebook is a mess. This newsletter keeps me informed, without taking the whole day from me.”

“I like how this newsletter keeps me connected with our community. It's great to have a dedicated source that focuses on what's going on locally. So many news companies are focused on huge attention-grabbing national headlines. But, besides the entertainment value, it's not really relevant to my day-to-day. Also it's great the newsletter is free.”

“This newsletter has been a game-changer for my business. It not only highlights local news but also features small businesses like mine. It's a great platform for local exposure.”

“I'm a parent, and it's apparent how busy that makes me. I LOVE newspapers (especially the smell), but I never have time to read it anymore. So thank god this newsletter exists, and I can read it in a few minutes. If anything is really critical or catches my eye, I can always spend more time reading into each piece of news, but it isn't usually necessary.”
